White Paper: Microsoft Azure DDoS
Overview
This deliverable was for the PTW 320 Technical Writing class at University of Washington. For the duration of the class we worked in groups, delivering one portfolio piece every three weeks. We rotated project roles for each deliverable. I served as the Production Specialist. As a team, we decided to create a white paper about mitigating distributed denial of services with Microsoft Azure DDoS protection.
Challenges faced
The primary challenge I faced was structuring the white paper. I feel confident with design elements and programs, however, the initial challenge was learning what constitutes a good white paper. After looking at Microsoft’s own published white papers, I integrated a similar look for cohesion. In addition, I designed all graphics used within the white paper.

Problems Solved and Content’s Impact
The audience for this were experienced technology decision makers including CTOs, network architects and cybersecurity managers. This white paper aimed to drive adoption of Microsoft’s advanced cloud protection services. As a team, we provided IT decision makers information on Azure DDoS Protection so they can evaluate its capabilities, architecture and value as a scalable solution for mitigating large scale DDoS threats.
